To say that there was a lot of respect for the UK hip hop scene would be somewhat of an overstatement. The majority if it is shit and pretty boring and just seems like an unsuccessful  British take on something the Americans have done pretty well for a good while. If it’s not that then it’s white middle class kids with backpacks talking “deep” about “important” issues. All that aside, sometimes the indulgence in this kind of music can be quite enjoyable, and sometimes it just works. This guy is not the greatest rapper alive, but he has a good flow, seems authentic and actually pays out for music videos (road guys don’t like paying for anything).
