I'm a Yoruba boy myself and this sounds about as self conscious as I get when I speak to my aunties. When they ask me questions like "why do I have dreads they look untidy, will you cut them off" or when they tell me "I'm ruining my skin with Tattoos" and the icing on the cake "do you have a girlfriend? when are you getting married?". Still it's different and progressive, video could have been cut a little better but all in all I dont want to be the fucking grinch that stole christmas. This film follows Jela, brought up in the heart of the East End of London in a Turkish and English family. He talks about his memories of growing up in the 80s and 90s and his time on the streets and on football terraces. Jela grew up fast, being immersed in football violence , skinhead culture , and hard drug use before his life spiraled out of control, now sober he looks to the future. The East End he grew up in has changed on the surface but many of the faces he grew up with remain the same. His struggles have made him what he is today and Jela is East London through and through. Similar to kissing a girl who is the splitting image of Naomi campbell, with a cleft lip. There is something overwhelmingly uneasy about it. Don't get me wrong though, it certainly has it's moments of pure bliss and as much as I have a fond appreciation for bass it doesn't get more minimally awkward than this. Regardless focusing on the positives Nate gives yet another stella performance, his wordplay is a couple notches short of phenomenal, a title he is sure to attain in due time.
