Yes well we all forgot / got drunk / went shopping for socks for Christmas presents, so here is Skate Vid SUNDAY….

These flicks are taken from the best skate video ever – Welcome to Hell by Toy Machine. It came out some time in the mid 90s and me, Neil and Matt used to break into classrooms with TVs in them so we could watch it on our lunch breaks. This was back in the days of listening to metal and skating and not a lot else.

First up is Toy Machine co-founder Ed Templeton who was a total innovator in the sense that at the time everyone thought he was a total dork. He was not in any way cool (like all the DC shoe wearing baggy combat pant dudes we used to try and copy). Templeton used to wear jacked-up skinny jeans (which EVERYONE used to rip) and skate in Chuck Taylors and all that shit. He also used to do these nutty doodles that sometimes ended up on his signature stuff. He went on to illustrate for MTV and loads of other big time people. He also made / makes films, writes books, has his photography in exhibitions and books, publishes a magazine….. fuckin’ OG.

As a little bonus, here’s the outro sequence which features a pretty famous 50-50 by Jamie Thomas. We used to try and watch this and fast forward it to see it normal speed and figure out how long he was up there. Nuts. Also, check the priest at the end- haha!

At the end of Welcome to Hell there is the GNARLEYEST (I’m getting back into the lingo now) section of bails – including Jamie Thomas fucking his head and neck RIGHT UP. I’m gonna post it here, but fellas – cross your legs. HURGH.
