Los Angeles Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All made their way into my sound system last week after having a chat with a girl my accomplices referred to as that one or the butterz one. She liked hip hop just as much as I do and we got to talking about any and everything US and UK that we both liked. It was pretty much you’re cliche music talk tug of war, I’m gonna come out trumps in this until she mentioned Odd Future.
I had seen something on the collective a few days earlier but failed to react and check it out. In all fairness everyone is a rapper these days. Odd Future on first listen blew my ignorant mind and reminded me of carefree reckless music which I would have made with friends when we still recorded Tim Westwood and Chris Goldfinger on a friday night and music I felt I should have made had I really not given a fuck.
