Here’s my latest documentary, DRIFT.

I am so grateful to have travelled and filmed with the South West Japanese Car Club. I’ve always admired the dedication and attention to detail import enthusiasts have for modification. Each car boldly speaks for each individual.

We filmed on many separate video formats for this, each with individual perks and flaws. We pooled all our resources and filmed on everything from professional H-DV JVCs to resolution crunching slo-mo Casios. This composition of camera types and qualities reflects the physical makeup of these custom cars.

The enthusiasm for this project was huge. My mate Ayshe was brilliant, arranging meets with over 200 people turning up. We really were spoilt for choice in the shooting stages. Mobile phone videos were submitted to me too by other interested drivers which gave me a great low-bitrate peek into other meets.

I have the utmost respect for people so dedicated to something that they live and breath it. This passes the stages of being a hobby, and becomes a way of life. The connections and friendships between these drivers run deep, all held together by a shared passion for their cars.
