DON’T MIX THAT VOL 44: INKKE by Don’t Watch That on Mixcloud

Inkke comes through with the goods for our Don’t Mix That series, and guess what? We got Inkke’s biggest fan boy and fellow Scot DJ Milktray to fire a few questions his way. Here’s how it turned out…

After an EP on Local Action, tape on Astral Black and your highly sought after 8 Bar Bootlegs free download what is next for you?

Next up is an EP on Lit City Trax, that’s pretty much ready so will be out soon. I’ve got a couple single tracks ready that are going to surface soon too.

You recently switched from all vinyl sets to using both Serato and vinyl how is that for you? Do you find yourself playing more dubs and things you have been sent in your sets?

Yeah for sure, it’s great to be able to play the music I haven’t really had a chance to until now, using only vinyl can be really limiting. I’m playing a lot of my own unreleased stuff, a lot more new music that maybe hasn’t had a physical release, a lot of tracks I’ve been sent. I’m really enjoying the switch over.

Knowing you aren’t strictly a grime producer, are you inspired by one thing for a while and stick with that style or music or is it very sporadic, making loads of different styles at once?

I’m usually working on a lot of different styles at once, at any one time I’m probably putting in work on around twenty tracks or so. Switching between them so I can come back to them and listen with fresh ears, maybe take them in a new direction. The tracks are always really different styles though, that keeps it interesting for me.
